Weekly Agent Spotlight - Jack Yiu

This week's spotlight agent is Jack Yiu! Jack was 15th in the company with $443,947 in IP Production for 2019 and his agency FFL Financial has issued $5,589,972 for the year!

We spoke with Jack to get some insight on his 6-year journey with FFL:

You've been with FFL since the beginning, but when did you really start to gain traction with building your own agency?

"We've been growing and doubling every year but I think I hit VP 2 years ago and we've just continued to gain momentum each year."

What are a couple of things that you started implementing to increase your personal and team growth?

"We started getting really aggressive with our advertising and staffing needs. We increased our budget so that we could advertise to more agents and we went from having one staff member to now having four. I also started taking advantage of being able to write e-apps. They've really revitalized my business because now I have multiple chances to provide coverage for a client in the same appointment even if they get declined by the first E-app. Previously when I would write paper apps I'd have to wait a few days to find out it's been declined, and it can be difficult to set up a follow-up appointment with that client after that occurs, so E-apps has really made my business a lot more efficient."

You have been a hall of fame producer for the past 3 years in a row! How have you been able to maintain consistency at such a high level while growing your agency?

"Taking care of my personal production has always come first for me. When I started I remember how challenging doing 20k a month seemed and now we have a lot of people doing over 30k! We have so many great resources here at FFL from our high compensation to our numerous lead options that it's become easy to excel as a producer and attract others to our business model simultaneously."

What would you say are your favorite type of leads to work off of and what do you advise for new agents getting started?

"I would say Facebook final expense leads. You can generate them in almost any area and they offer such a quick turn around time that I can get 60 leads in just a couple of days if I want to."

What is your goal for 2020?

"My Goal for 2020 is to come out of the field for one day so I can spend more time helping and developing agents. I see us issuing one million per month in 2020 while maintaining at least $300,000 in personal production.
