Family First Life Honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Family First Life is honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. You may have noticed our logos are all pink on social media and on The NEXT LEVEL LIVE. Breast cancer awareness month is a yearly campaign that intends to educate people about the importance of early screening, testing, supporting survivors, and more.
We also want to salute the survivors and honor those lost to breast cancer. To remind people we are honoring October as breast cancer awareness month, we as a company display our pink ribbons proudly! The pink ribbon is an international symbol of breast cancer awareness. The first known use of a pink ribbon in connection with breast cancer awareness was in the fall of 1991.
In 2019, an estimated 268,600 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women and 2,470 cases will be diagnosed in men across the USA , but if caught early, the survival rate after five years is 99%! Part of detecting breast cancer early is regular screenings for women over 40. Breast cancer deaths have been declining since 1990 thanks to early detection, better screening, increased awareness, and new treatment options.
A mammogram can help find breast cancer early when it’s easier to treat. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is the perfect time to spread the word about taking steps to detect breast cancer early. Family First Life would like to urge our clients, agents, staff, and their family and friends to have a mammogram if they are over 40 for early detection.
